Feeding Your Baby: Jars or No Jars?
Most jarred baby foods are
organic
, which can make feeding your baby tasty and nutritious food so much easier. Conscientious moms used to avoid jarred baby foods and go through the effort of making
homemade food
to ensure their babies were getting the most vitamins and nutrients possible. But who has the time?! It is so much easier to grab a spoon and a jar and be on your way.
The advantages of making your own food include that it’s generally cheaper, it’s freezer-friendly and you’re able to create unique combinations suited to your baby’s tastes.
On the other hand, jars are quick and easy to grab, and they don’t require any peeling, boiling, mashing or blending! The food industry has made it healthy and easy to buy healthy and nutritious jarred baby food and it seems like there are advantages to both.
Which do you prefer?

I prefer the homemade method. I love to bake, mash and peel my daughters foods because I can put the love in it while preparing it as well. I also know that it's a lot healthier for her this way because it certainly preserves all the nutrition in the foods. So, for her, homemade is the best.

Homemade. It's so easy to do and I can control the quantity. Jarred foods are so watery. My son ate the thick, homemade purees better.

HOMEMADE!! Anything natural is best, but on the go, putting your own concoctions in purchased mini jars from the store can really help! Plus you can keep them cold in a pack for longer lasting snacks!! Also love dehydrating fruits and veggies, put in a plastic container and away you go!!! Its wonederful!!

For my son, I did jarred food and for my daughter and trying our homemade and so far I love it. It's so much easier than I thought it would be so for those on the fence b/c of time, it's not that bad. I work full time and can still do it. I just have to be able to devote a couple hours for a week's worth of food.
