The cover of the latest issue of People features Nicole Richie with her new baby, Sparrow Midnight. Richie (28), boyfriend Joel Madden (30), and their daughter Harlow welcomed Sparrow into their family six weeks ago. Richie is quoted as saying: “I couldn’t be happier. The only thing you want for your kids is to be healthy and happy, and they are. I’m right where I belong.” The parents divulged that they are sleep-deprived, though, as any parent to a newborn will be.

Richie reports that Harlow is already fawning over Sparrow, “I’m glad I had a girl before a boy. She just loves him so much.”  

There are rumors that the Good Charlotte frontman and Richie have been secretly married, but nothing has been confirmed.
