Nail polish is the perfect accessory for any ensemble…and at any age! Polished nails are routinely taken to the creative limits; adding flashy rhinestones, intricate decals and the ubiquitous glossy top coat. So it comes as no surprise that most little kids are fascinated with nail polish. The shiny color on mommy’s nails is enviable to the inquisitive, fun-loving youth. Unfortunately, nail polish is really toxic stuff! With kids putting nail polish on their fingers and then their fingers in their mouths, it’s alarming to think what chemicals they’re ingesting into their developing bodies.
Thankfully, stay-at-home mom Melanie Hurley found a solution. She became alarmed at the toxicity of nail polish when she found it eating holes in a Styrofoam plate after her 4-year-old spilled a bit of it. So she created Piggy Paint; a non-toxic, low-odor, non-flammable, yet durable nail polish that she claims is as natural as mud. It comes in a variety of colors with cute names like: “Clouds of Candy” and “Glass Slippers.”
