Skyy Hadley's Homemade Foot Treatments
Are your feet in desperate need of a little TLC?
Skyy Hadley
, owner of
As U Wish Nail Spa
in New Jersey and manicurist to the stars, offers some fabulous ideas for at-home foot pampering. Check out the steps below.
Light Cucumber Shell Mask
According to Hadley, cucumber is extra refreshing and reviving for tired toes. In addition, the lemon helps exfoliate, and the olive oil deeply moisturizes for super softness.
What you'll need:
2 whole cucumbers (one per foot), 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Step 1:
Using a blender, mix ingredients together until pureed
Step 2:
Put mixture in bowl and heat until warm
Step 3:
Place one-half of mixture in large plastic baggie, and one-half in another
Step 4:
Slide feet into baggies one at a time, rubbing mixture all over feet
Step 5:
Leave on feet for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with warm water
Meals for the Heels Mask
Oatmeal acts as a soothing agent for dry, itchy or irritated skin, and milk exfoliates to rid skin of dry, dead cells.
What you'll need:
1 cup of oatmeal and 1/2 cup of milk, sugar
Step 1:
Heat oatmeal and milk together on stove top until cooked, stirring frequently
Step 2:
Add sugar for thickening and let cool
Step 3:
One the mixture has thickened, apply to feet, focusing on heels
Step 4:
Leave on feet for 5 to 10 minutes
Step 5:
Finish off by moisturizing with pure shea butter
And if you'd like a little help preparing these lovely foot treatments, ask the proud daddy-to-be! I know my DH is happy to do whatever he can to make me more comfortable. Enjoy!
