1. Do not go out and just buy clothes a couple of sizes bigger than your normal size. They will just make you look bigger than you really are. Wait until your belly starts to pop (usually around the end of the first trimester/early second trimester) and buy clothes that fit. 2. Empire waist tops (maternity or non-maternity) are always stylish and can be worn from week one to week forty. 3. To get the most bang for your buck, invest in a great pair of maternity jeans, pants and a versatile dress early on. Make sure you buy items that will grow with your throughout your pregnancy. Things to look for are adjustable waistbands (drawstring, panels, tie-backs) and stretchy material. Pictured is the Signature Wrap Dress from Babystyle. 4. You will probably need to buy new shirts as your pregnancy progresses. To save money, splurge on a couple of tops, but buy the bulk at stores like Old Navy, Target or check out the sales rack at your favorite boutique. 5. You know your belly will get larger, but also keep in mind that your breasts and your feet may also grow (usually around 1/2 size). A supportive bra and a pair of shoes that fit can go a long way in helping your feel like the sexy mom-to-be that you are!
