Talk about an expensive gown.  The famous black gown worn by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 film, Breakfast at Tiffany's was auctioned off yesterday and went to the highest bidder at $807,000.

Designed by Givenchy, the dress was as famous as Hepburn.  The beginning of the movie shows Hepburn exiting a cab on Fifth Avenue, in the floor length black dress, stopping to look at the diamonds in the windoes of Tiffany & Co.

Givenchy designed many wardrobes for Hepburn's films.  Hepburn was his muse and he adored dressing her tall, slim frame.  The dress was thought to sell between $98,000 and $138,000.
